A Sitges Sensation...
"EQUALITY: A Circus for All"
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown doom and gloom and phases of reopening, we’ve been fortunate to have a small group of extraordinary acrobats come to Sitges and administer their sensual remedy.
Milano, Miguel, Stephane and Nico
Sitges, August 2020
The show is a welcomed diversion, an antidote from our ailing minds and world, if only for an hour of delight and entertainment. Their performances, all at once sexy, thrilling, and dangerous—takes place in the open-air schoolyard of Escola Pia de Sitges every week, Thursday through Sunday at 21.30, until the thirtieth of August.
The schoolyard is the perfect open-air venue for the times. For the public, it is the central location, perfect temperature, safe social distancing, and occasion to enjoy a show. For them, the ability to tailor-make the seating of its venue to suit the crowd, whether it accommodates forty or seventy people.
Les Farfadais is the name of the group founded by Stéphane Haffner with his brother Alexandre on the streets of Paris back in 1998. The group had evolved into a company of 50 artists until the pandemic decimated the cruise line industry, which is predominately where the shows are performed. No longer afloat, they’ve had to leave the high seas.
At the helm of the EQUALITY show in Sitges, Stéphane navigates the streets of Sitges with his costumed cohorts Miguel, Nico, Milano, Kyle, and the lovely Emma tirelessly marketing the show; distributing flyers off-acrobatic duty, and remarkably after each performance!
Quite touching and heartfelt is the public address at the end of each show when Stephane explains how they have had to survive in these hard times—the inspiration for this circus for all.
Note:
September 2020 -- The run of the show has been extended to the end of September!
To Stephane and the troupe, THANK YOU for sharing your talents with us over this challenging time.
We hope you've enjoyed your time in Sitges.
